A Measure of Comfort tells the story of struggling writer wrestling with his changed perception of the world after a doomed relationship draws to a conclusion. Directed and written by Jeremy Berg, and starring a great cast and crew of local Seattle talent.
Here’s what the director, Wailam Kwan, had to say about the win:
Well if you haven’t heard by now, you must be living under a rock. Yesterday, Zarkan: Son of Mahnphar, The Musical won the Seattle True Independent Film Festival Film Challenge, a short film I co-wrote with my good pal Jesse and CB, and directed. People were saying that we were going to win and that we were winning by a landslide, but I didn’t really believe it until they announced our film. I took the stage with Jesse as we accepted the award and I must say a little nerve racking. I don’t even remember what I said on that stage, but it was awesome.
Then after, Jesse and I got interviewed about the film for ITV, which is a show that showcases local artists and filmmakers, and again I can’t really remember what I said, but maybe Jesse can. But yeah that should be airing sometime in the next couple of weeks. you can also check it out at their website www.itvnw.com and if some of you didn’t get a chance to see Zarkan, don’t worry, it will be online very soon. Thanks again to everyone who voted for the film and supported it and for the awesome cast and crew that I had!
Congrats to Wailam and the cast & crew! Look for Zarkan: Son of Mahnphar to be online very soon! You can check out some pics from the shoot here. The offical STIFF Blog post is here.
